Course Application Deadline: Please submit all required application documents by 5:00 PM, Friday, October 18, 2024. Late submissions or incomplete documents will not be accepted, and paper submissions will be returned.

Course Application Documents:
- Course Period: Winter Break 2024 or the 2nd Semester of the 2024 Academic Year.
- You must first complete the online registration and then submit the paper application in order to complete the course application.

- Service-Learning Course Application Form (including a list of teaching assistants):
- (1) Each unit may apply for only one course per semester.
- (2) Teaching assistants should preferably be senior students and must not be enrolled in the course.
- Course Plan: Required for new courses, courses taught for more than six semesters, or those offered for over three years (considered as new courses). There is no specific format for the course plan, but it must meet the standards outlined in Section 4 on course review.
- Submit the paper documents to Ms. Yeh (TEL: 3366-2066, ext. 19) in the Extracurricular Activities Division.

Course Application Review Standards:
- (1) The course content must align with the club’s purpose and be conducted in a service-learning format. It must be reviewed and approved by the Service-Learning Course Review Committee.
- (2) New Course Units: The review will assess whether the following elements are well-planned: the service content meets the objectives of nonprofit, non-religious, and non-political courses; a description of the service recipients; student service and operation plans; student training implementation methods; and any special course requirements.

Explanation of the Application Forms:
- (1) Course Objectives: Include the course purpose, learning objectives for students, and service objectives.
- (2) Description of Service Recipients: Who are the recipients of the service? How were they selected? Why do they need the service?
- (3) Student Service and Operation Planning: This includes specific details on service time, location, venue, frequency, schedule, and activity content. The operation plan should clearly specify the assignments (in line with school policies, including at least a mid-term reflection, a final report, and a video reflection).
- (4) Student Training Implementation Method: Please specify the instructors, course content, and duration. The course content should relate to the knowledge and skills required for the service and course reflection.
- (5) Special Course Requirements: Indicate any restrictions on participants or special requirements.
- (6) Course Application Options: You can choose to offer Service-Learning (A) or (B), as explained below:
- Service-Learning (A): Focuses on building the concept of service and learning and caring for the campus environment. Courses can be offered by academic departments, student clubs, or administrative units.
- Service-Learning (B): Focuses on services within and outside the campus, conducted by academic departments, student clubs, or administrative units, and can be organized in collaboration with volunteer groups.

Responsibilities of Teaching Assistants (TAs):
- (1) Completion of Required Training Hours: This includes orientation sessions, on-campus lectures, and off-campus teaching, totaling 10 hours.
- (2) Main Tasks of TAs:
- Supervising students’ assignment submissions.
- Tracking the progress of the instructor’s final grade submissions.
- Submitting the final reflection report.
- Recommending outstanding students.

Important Notes:
- (1) A minimum of 5 students is required for the course to be offered.
- (2) Teaching assistants must not be enrolled in the course.
- (3) The salary for non-departmental TAs will be subsidized by the Extracurricular Activities Division, with a limit of one TA per course.
- (4) Courses that have been offered for six consecutive semesters or more than three years and intend to continue must follow the application process for new courses and submit a report on the past implementation of the course.
